The Hong Kong Prize for Innovation and Creativity

The Hong Kong Prize creates a platform to showcase innovations and achievements across the built and natural environment and encourage development and advancement within the industry. Nominations will be assessed by a team of experts. The winners will receive recognition and support to push forward their projects.

The winning entries reflect the spirit and vision of Hong Kong’s youth, showing how local talent is contributing to a better world through their own unique creativity and innovation. The judges hope that the prize will continue to serve as a platform for young people to express their ideas, and help them become more confident, responsible and active citizens in a future of global change.

The award recognises outstanding scientific researchers in Hong Kong in different fields of science and technology. This year, the Prize attracted a record number of nominations from researchers in all disciplines – including artificial intelligence and robotics, life and health, new materials and energy, advanced manufacturing and FinTech. Nominations are also being received from overseas, indicating the wide appeal of the Prize.

Each winner will be given HK$2 million, a certificate and a trophy. The winners will also be invited to join a summit and be presented with the Hong Kong Prize medallion at an awards ceremony in October.

Hong Kong is a hub of dazzling artistic creativity, allowing aspiring students to channel their views of the world’s changing landscape through various art forms. The Prize will offer them recognition and encouragement in their creative work, arts projects or further studies; and increased international visibility via top-tier media coverage.

The BOCHK Science and Technology Innovation Prize 2023 was awarded today in a ceremony at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. The Prize is organised by the Hong Kong Alliance of Technology and Innovation and sponsored by Bank of China (Hong Kong) Limited. The Prize aims to inspire academic researchers in Hong Kong to persevere in innovative exploration and establish themselves here as leading scientists, so that they can build their career here, serve their nation and contribute to the world.

Hong Kong is known as a cosmopolitan city, where different cultures are embraced and celebrated. The 16th You Bring Charm to the World Awards, organised by Phoenix TV and held in Hong Kong’s Wan Chai district, honoured six Chinese individuals who have contributed to society in their own ways. This included a renowned entrepreneur, who donated his money to charity; an actor who starred as a flamboyant conman; and a female tinkerer. Each of the winners – who came from a wide range of backgrounds – told their own stories about how their hard work helped them achieve success. The event was attended by more than 2,000 people. A live broadcast was also available on the internet.
